Suffrage rally.jpg
Allen County suffragists fought for women to vote through literature, civic presentations, and parades for decades. Highly active in 1912 - 1920, Allen County citizens welcomed suffrage workers from across the United States and England, campaigned door to door, and spoke at mass gatherings in Allen County and its neighboring counties to promote equal suffrage. Allen County women were known regionally for their efforts to promote the passing of the 19th Amendment.

Despite their efforts, Allen County's voting citizens continued to vote down equal enfranchisement into 1917.
